Villa Christal is a holiday rental in Sarlat-la-Canéda, in the heart of the Périgord Noir. You rent the whole house: 170 m² of air-conditioned living space, a private pool used by no one but your party, and the medieval town about a twelve-minute walk away. You book directly with the owners, with no agency in between.

A whole house, made for families
The entire non-smoking house is yours: three bedrooms with queen-size beds — one of which converts to twin beds — three shower rooms and three separate WCs, so six people can share the house without getting in each other’s way. The bright open living space, the covered terrace, the pool table and the garden furniture give everyone room, indoors and out.
Fibre Wi-Fi reaches the whole house and two desk areas make it easy to work for an hour or two without turning the holiday into an office. A cot and a high chair are available, and the private parking takes two cars without any manoeuvring.
Private pool and air-conditioned house
The 9 × 4.25 m pool is private: it is shared with no one during your stay. It has a roller safety cover, to be closed when nobody is swimming, and a pool technician calls during your stay. Heat-pump heating is available on request and subject to certain conditions — tell us your dates and we will confirm what is possible.
The house itself is fully air-conditioned — every room, bedrooms included. That is what makes the difference during the heatwaves that are common in the Périgord in summer: you swim in the afternoon, and you sleep cool at night.

A beautiful large garden with a magnificent, very private swimming pool. The orchard is a lovely bonus: fresh fruit is ready to be picked!
The house is spacious and clean, with wonderful beds.
The kitchen is very complete and equipped with every comfort.
The host and team are friendly and easy to reach.
One tip: in summer, bring something to protect yourself from mosquitoes; there are a lot of them.

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Christian's. The house is within walking distance of Sarlat and is perfect for a family, with spacious bedrooms and a very large living and kitchen area. The children particularly enjoyed playing pool. There is also a large outdoor patio with a swimming pool and an excellent gas barbecue available.
We found everything in the house clean and well equipped, making the stay as easy as possible. Check-in was straightforward, and the hosts were extremely warm and welcoming. We really appreciated the basket of local produce given to us as a welcome gift on arrival.
I would echo an earlier comment: mosquitoes can be an issue in summer, so come prepared. Please also be aware that the immediate surroundings include hills and steep slopes, so they may be less suitable for people with reduced mobility unless they have a car.
I would not hesitate to recommend this property for its privacy, fantastic facilities and location.

This was the property's first time being let, so there are several small imperfections to correct. The photographs oversell the property, although it is still of good quality. The main negative point is the quality of the pool water, but I am sure Christian will take the necessary action. With experience, I think the property will improve, as there are many small details that are not too difficult to correct, and the price will then be more in line with the accommodation. We had a pleasant stay and the owner was very attentive. The cleaning could also be improved. Nothing insurmountable, but it needed to be mentioned.

Check-in from 3 pm, check-out before 10 am. Keys are handed over by a local concierge service, available seven days a week, or through a secure key box for late arrivals. Bed linen and towels are provided, beds are made on arrival, and end-of-stay cleaning is included.
